Services Guidelines
We believe inmates benefit from having a friend in the outside world who can provide support and resources. Our mission is to be that support — especially for those who have no one — improving prison life and offering tools for a successful re-entry into society.
General Guidelines
Payment Policy
No stamps accepted as payment! Only institutional money orders are accepted as payment from an inmate to fund their account.
Payment Options
Cash App and PayPal are secure and easy ways for you to fund an inmate account. You must include the inmate's full name, inmate ID #, and address on a Cash App or PayPal money transfer to guarantee we credit the proper account.
What We Don't Do
Webb Hunter does not perform any services which would require a power of attorney or customer account management with a third-party company or service (e.g., we do not manage bank accounts, social media pages, or personal data with government agencies).
Our Ethical Standard
Any researched information Webb Hunter deems derogatory, inflammatory, or illegal will not be provided to an inmate. Webb Hunter reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, at any time.
Ordering Is Easy
Order forms aren't required (but are available upon request) — you can request any service by simply shooting us a kite. Be sure your request is accurate: we mail results within one business day of receiving it. Please allow 14 days for mail to reach you before inquiring; most delays are due to USPS or your institution.
Send a SASE
Send a self-addressed stamped envelope for all correspondence requests. You pay the return postage for project results unless you include SASEs or stamps with your service request. Make deposits payable to: Webb Hunter LLC.
Our Level of Control
We guarantee timely results from our researchers. All online purchases process within 24 hours of our receiving them. However, we have no control over the book vendor, the postal service, or institutional services. No refunds due to institutional policy rejections or lost vendor orders, since both carry an inherent risk outside the control of Webb Hunter, LLC.
Research Guidelines
We do online research for the information you need: educational, re-entry, religious, sports, legal, stock, medical, music/movie, business… if you can think of it, we can probably find it!
Know Our Policy
We do not offer photo services of any type. Only pictures within institutional policy will be included with research results. We do not research private citizens or contact information.
Know Your Policy
Be aware of institutional policies regarding documents and information provided by vendors. We will alter our usual procedures to follow mailroom policies we're informed about ahead of time. If there is a non-standard policy, the customer pays for any extra postage costs.
Time Is Money
Our fees mainly cover the time required to do thorough research or process orders with third-party vendors. Our service fees are much less than those charged to the public by other online companies!
Where Your Money Goes
Monies sent purchase our virtual currency, "Hunter Bucks," which fund a prepaid account for customer fees ($1.00 = 1 Hunter Buck; no refunds once purchased). We do not round up purchase payments like some other services — an inmate account pays actual purchase prices and our service fees, that's all.
Purchasing Guidelines
Webb Hunter provides price quotes and purchasing services for books and magazine subscriptions directly from our main third-party vendors.
Know Our Policy
We do not "shop around" vendors to find the best price for a book or subscription. If a book cannot be found from our usual source (rarely), an alternative supplier may be utilized using their prices and fees accordingly.
Know Your Policy
Webb Hunter, LLC will not be held liable for books or magazines rejected due to institutional publication policies, and refunds will not be given.
Saving You Money
We order "New" books at the "Mass Market Paperback" (cheapest version) standard, if available, and automatically choose any Amazon free shipping options to pass those savings on to our customers.
Where Items Come From
Webb Hunter maintains institutional security requirements by having books and magazines delivered directly from their respective sources to the inmate's address.

Institutional libraries have a limited selection of quality textbooks. We make online research available to those who want to pursue an up-to-date education while incarcerated.
Legal Research
Publicly available case decisions and codes of law for those who need to pursue legal remedies for the system's past or present injustices and failures.
Quick Info
Sometimes a little piece of information makes all the difference. A cost-effective service for items that can be quickly found — recipes, quotes, or scripture.
Graphics Research
Sometimes words aren't what you need. Request the image you want and the type of drawing — up to four publication-policy-compliant images per graphic.
Book Purchasing
Mail-order vendors offer a limited catalog and take months to deliver. We order from Amazon's vast selection — delivery is fast and direct from the vendor.
Magazine Subscriptions
Many services exploit inmates with delayed or non-delivery of a periodical. We use the Barnes & Noble newsstand — reliable service and rates.

Photocopy & Writing Relay
Your bridge between paper and the digital world. We print your emails and mail them, scan your mail to email, and make standard photocopies.
